When we think of winter weddings, we often go to cool neutrals, whites, and metallics. But we wanted a different approach, something warm and cozy. So we came up with a rich brown and amber color scheme that is inviting and simple. Take a peek at a few shots from our styled shoot, and if you’re looking to recreate our look yourself you can visit our Amazon storefront to shop all the products we used.
So many weddings have white linens, and while you can’t go wrong with a classic, we wanted something richer and more grounding. A warm brown linen did just that by adding some depth to the table. Using a colored linen also allows you to see each layer of decor. The lace table runner detail really stands out on the darker linen. Having a lighter layer down the middle makes the amber bud vases and candleholders really shine. White plates and napkins also add to the layered look without it all being too busy.
Dried grasses and flowers are a great way to save some money if you don’t have a huge budget for florals. Fresh flowers, while beautiful, can cost a pretty penny. If you are looking for alternatives, a great one is a set of various bud vases with some simple dried grasses. We used a combination of dried baby’s breath and bunny tail grasses in tan, white and black. The different textures on the vases and candle holders add some visual interest without taking over.
