The Couple: Samantha Lewis & Namor Nalupta
Date Engaged: September 10th, 2019
Wedding Date: June 26th, 2021
Occupations: Samantha: Stay at Home Mom, Namor: Restaurant Manager
How did you meet? Namor and I met while working together at P.F. Chang’s in Walnut Creek, California. The first time Namor spoke to me was when I went in for an interview with the restaurant managers. At the time, Namor was bartending. He poked his head out from the curtains that hung behind the host desk when he overheard me talking to the hostess. He said, “I’m the manager, you’re hired”, with a huge grin. From then on, we got to know each other’s quirks and idiosyncrasies while working alongside each other. We became really great friends and decided to let that friendship blossom into something more.
What attracted her to him? Although Namor’s rockstar charm could come off as intimidating, I was drawn to him from the start. He had a way of making me feel comfortable enough to let my guard down, whether it be with his sense of humor or by letting his sensitive, artistic side show. Namor’s passionate dedication to everything he does has been a constant inspiration for me, and the reason I have put my complete faith in him as both my fiance and the father of our children.
What attracted him to her? Samantha grabbed my attention from the first time I laid eyes on her. Her beauty and big smile would light up any room she entered, while her laugh filled it with warmth. She always held herself to a high standard, consistently expressing both dignity and grace in all that she did. Our conversations flowed effortlessly, as we held similar interests and values. I respected Samantha immensely for how she cared for her daughter, Leila. I knew together, we would create a beautiful family and live a life full of unconditional love.
Your engagement story: On September 10th, 2019, Namor surprised me by booking an appointment for me to get a manicure and pedicure. I figured it was just another one of Namor’s sweet gestures towards me, a rare but cherished mommy-break. After my relaxing trip to the salon, I drove home, only to find candles lining the walkway up to our house. I opened the door to find the candlelit path continued throughout the house, and out to the back patio. It was there that I found Namor, with a bouquet of my favorite long-stem red roses in hand, in front of a large collage of his most cherished pictures of us. With our kids by our side, Nay got down on one knee and proposed. Tears filled our eyes as we popped the champagne and toasted to one of the happiest moments of our lives.
Tell us your COVID wedding planning experience: While our nuptials were originally set to take place on June 27th, 2020, we had to reschedule our wedding for June 26th, 2021, due to the restrictions put in place by the coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately, most of our wedding plans were already set in stone prior to the COVID-19 outbreak. We had already sent out invitations to our guests, which included a link they could follow to respond. Once we got confirmations from our venue and vendors that we could reschedule our wedding services, we made sure to send out notices to all of our guests. We were able to update our guests with our new date this way, as well as utilize some of our beautiful engagement photos, shot by Lolita Vasquez at Image Society.
