HOW DID YOU MEET? Mitchell and I met 12 years ago while both attending Junior College. We shared a class together and not long into the semester we gravitated towards each other.
WHAT ATTRACTED HER TO HIM? It was initially his height and his smile. I’m 5’7″ so I’m not short and he is 6’5″. Being around him made me feel petite and I liked that. The attraction was pretty instant for me, and I knew this could be something serious.
WHAT ATTRACTED HIM TO HER? Mitchell would say it was my mini skirt and glasses that first caught his eye. I don’t actually need glasses but would wear them for fun.
YOUR ENGAGEMENT STORY: This part is pretty good. We had been together for 9 years and trust me, I always got the question ‘when are you guys getting married?’ well since I couldn’t propose to myself, that was a question I never had an answer for. It was a hot topic of conversation as I have watched and participated in all of my friends’ weddings. My best friend since kindergarten and I went to Hawaii to celebrate our 30th birthdays, little did I know that our 30th birthday celebration would turn into an epic engagement (all caught on video I might add). My best friend, Jenna and I were sitting on the beach enjoying our vacation and all of a sudden I hear Mitchell’s voice behind us. I turn around and there he is walking up to us, wearing all white, and in that moment I just lost it. I couldn’t believe he was there and I knew the instant I saw him why he was. He got down on one knee, and proposed. I of course, with all my heart said YES! It was the truly the best day of my life.
TELL US YOUR COVID WEDDING PLANNING EXPERIENCE: Being that I had been in and a part of three weddings in 2019. I could not wait for June 6th, 2020 to finally be my year. We had our venue and all vendors chosen, in the middle of food tasting, ordering dresses, all the little details you can imagine and in early March 2020, everything stopped. We kept hoping, ‘it’ll blow over by June, we’ll be okay’ reality kicked in and we were forced to postpone. I was absolutely devastated and heartbroken that our dream wedding that we’ve been waiting so long for that was only a few months away, now seemed so far. We thought we’d be okay for June 12, 2021, but ultimately decided that June 4, 2022 will be our day. It was the best decision we could have made, and looking back I’m so glad we did but it was the hardest and best decision we could have made at the time. All we want is to celebrate our love with all of our family and friends and June 4, 2022 will be our day to do that, and we can’t wait.
