THE LOVE STORY
HOW DID YOU MEET?
Mitchell and I met about 14 years ago while both attending Junior College. We shared a class together. I sat in the front of the class while he sat in the back, week by week I slowly would move a row closer and closer to the back. By the end of the semester, we were side by side.
WHAT ATTRACTED HER TO HIM?
It was initially his height and smile. I’m 5’7″ so I’m not short and he is 6’5″. Being around him made me feel petite, and I liked that. The attraction was pretty instant for me, and I knew this could be something serious.
WHAT ATTRACTED HIM TO HER?
Mitchell would say that it was my mini skirt and glasses that first caught his eye. I don’t wear glasses but would change up my look from time to time.
THE ENGAGEMENT STORY
This part is my favorite. We had been together for almost 9 years and trust me, I always got the question ‘when are you guys getting married?’ Well, since I couldn’t propose to myself, that was a question I never had an answer for. It was a hot topic of conversation as I have watched and participated in all of my friends’ weddings. My best friend since Kindergarten and I went to Hawaii to celebrate our 30th birthday. Girls trips were a regular, nothing out of the norm for us. Little did I know that our girls birthday trip would turn into an epic engagement. My best friend Jenna and I were sitting on the beach enjoying our White Claws and all of a sudden I hear Mitchell’s voice. I turn around, and there he is walking towards me, wearing all white and that big smile I love so much. In that moment, I lost it. I couldn’t believe he was there and I knew the instant I saw him, why he was. He got down on one knee, with tears in his eyes (that he’ll never admit) and proposed. I, with my whole heart said YES! It was truly, the best day of my life.
THE WEDDING
FAVORITE PART OF THE WEDDING: I can’t say that I have a favorite part of the wedding. It took so many years planning and changing decor and styles due to Covid that we were just ready for the day to be here. We were very calm and truly lived in every second of it.
MOST UNEXPECTED PART THE WEDDING DAY: I knew that our family and friends would have a great time, but I didn’t expect to feel so much love and pure happiness from every single person that was there. Everyone could feel the love in that venue and it was a blessing to soak it in, that this was finally our day to celebrate.
WHAT, IF ANYTHING, WOULD YOU DIFFERENTLY? I would do minor tweaks here and there, but overall wouldn’t change anything.
ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES: My advice, be honest with your vendors, don’t get drunk, wear comfortable shoes. Relax and just have fun.
ADVICE FOR OTHER GROOMS: Whatever your bride to be wants that day, give it to her.
THREE WORDS TO DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING: Good. Ass. Time.
OUR HONEYMOON: Kauai, Hawaii was our honeymoon and we lived like a King and Queen.
