HOW DID YOU MEET? Sam and I met briefly through snowboarding friends back in April 2017. Sam was living in Europe, exploring different countries, at the time but was home for a short visit. We ended up on a group trip together exploring Eastern Europe with mutual friends for a couple weeks. I thought he was a super cool, giant, intriguing human. He thought I was young and too much work. We were both right. I came back home with our group after our two weeks and he stayed and continued his explorations. When he returned home from Europe for good in October, we reconnected and Sam gave me a chance. He soon learned that yes, I’m a lot of work, but I’m worth it!
WHAT ATTRACTED HER TO HIM? Beyond being tall, dark and handsome, I could immediately tell that Sam was/is a genuine, trust-worthy man with an adventurous spirit.
WHAT ATTRACTED HIM TO HER? Attractive and smart with a great sense of adventure, Kelsey is brutally honest and genuinely caring at the same time.
YOUR PROPOSAL STORY: As adventurers, snowboarders, and lovers of nature, Tahoe has always been our go-to place locally. On our way out of town, on a month-long road trip, Sam took a short detour down to Lake Tahoe. I knew the detour wasn’t on our itinerary and we both knew what was happening. I think I was even more nervous than him. He walked me down to the start of a small beach along Tahoe, got down on one knee, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I, of course, said yes.
TELL US YOUR COVID WEDDING PLANNING EXPERIENCE: I’ve always wanted an extremely small wedding, if any wedding at all. Sam’s been indifferent. COVID hasn’t changed my wedding vision at all. Planning a wedding 9 months in advance ordinarily wouldn’t be too difficult. However, for 2021 brides, most of the ideal dates and vendors have already been scooped up by 2020 brides who have chosen to push their wedding back to 2021. My workaround is to have my wedding on a Thursday. No one does a wedding midweek so it seems to have allowed me to wedge out a spot for myself among the competition.
