Once in a while, when you aren’t looking for it, love finds you. It’s that simple. In the case of Cynthia and Austin Baek, love came along and for the two of them, that was it. Short and sweet.
Cynthia and Austin are pharmacists who happened to meet at an industry event in Sacramento.
It’s easy to see why Cynthia caught Austin’s eye. She wasn’t just beautiful, she was outgoing and funny too. And she found Austin to be friendly, sweet, and cute. They ended up together for most of that evening, and that was the beginning of a beautiful romance.
It wasn’t long before Austin knew he had the girl of his dreams, and he knew he had to ask her to marry him. Downtown Sacramento’s iconic I Street Bridge provided the perfect setting for Austin’s proposal. After a romantic dinner, Austin proposed to Cynthia, and just a short seven months later, they tied the knot in a picture-perfect ceremony at a scenic and elegant golf course in Rocklin.
Austin, so dashing in his summer-themed suit, could not have been more enchanted when he saw his bride coming down the aisle, looking absolutely lovely in her beautiful wedding gown. She had chosen a classic strapless design which featured a lace overlay and a beaded bodice, which she accented with just the right jewelry to create a look that was classic and elegant.
Her bridesmaids were gorgeous in matching halter dresses in coral, white, and peach, and held lovely bouquets of peonies and roses. Matching light coral colors were used throughout the decorations, creating a light atmosphere perfect for a summer wedding.
Of course, a Sacramento outdoor wedding in June is likely to be very warm. In a thoughtful touch, guests were given programs that doubled as fans to help them battle the Summer heat.
After a meaningful ceremony officiated by a friend of the couple, it was time to celebrate!
The venue offered an amazing menu, from appetizers to delicious dining, treating their guests to grilled filet mignon with a cabernet sauvignon sauce and Parmesan herb-crusted chicken with smoked tomato caper sauce, plus salad choices and more. And they took care of the little ones with a kids’ menu too! The couple and their guests raved about the food and how easy the staff made the day in general.
For dessert, there were cupcakes and macaroons, along with a beautiful three tiered cake with unique patterns on every tier and pink peonies to add some pops of color.
Both the bride and the groom agreed that their first dance, to “From the Ground Up” by Dan & Shay was absolutely the most romantic moment of the day. But their favorite part? They say that they had so many favorite parts that they just couldn’t choose! From the officiant’s speech to the first dance, the surprise dance, fun photo sessions, the cake cutting and the speeches, they tell us that the entire wedding was wonderful! And they pointed out that even with the extreme temperatures, Mike Phan, their photographer, made sure they were comfortable and kept their energy up, which definitely shows in the photos.
Cynthia and Austin recommend: Relax. Take one thing at a time. It’s your day, so take the time you need. Give yourself the room to take the pictures you want, and with the people you want. If that means a big family picture, insist on it! Austin’s advice is simple: have fun with the boys but don’t overdo it! And make sure that everyone gets to the venue on time. No one appreciates a late groom!
And finally, they tell us, “We didn’t expect things to go as smoothly as they did, and we had so much fun and wish we could relive it once again!” What could be better than that?
