THE LOVE STORY
HOW DID YOU MEET? We meet 7 years ago at Walnut Creek Honda. I worked as a receptionist at my first job and David worked in the service department.
WHAT ATTRACTED HER TO HIM? I was attracted to David by the conversations we would have and he wasn’t bad looking at all.
WHAT ATTRACTED HIM TO HER? Her sweet, simple, and caring personality.
YOUR PROPOSAL STORY: We were on a family vacation in Maui and it was our last night, David had asked me if we can go for a walk before dinner. I knew something was up due to the fact that David doesn’t walk before dinner at all and it was very out of character for him to ask this. I said yes anyway and as we were walking, we approached the beach and there was a heart in the sand asking for my hand in marriage. I then noticed the waitress that had been taking care of us the entire week was on the beach as well taking pictures and there was a professional photographer. As I said yes my family cheered from the balcony above.
THE WEDDING
MOST UNEXPECTED PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY: There were surprises I arranged for David. Though we had planned on hiring a mariachi band, he didn’t find out until they started playing. I had also hid a Smirnoff bottle in my garter and when it came time to do the garter toss he found the surprise!
WHAT, IF ANYTHING, WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY? I would absolutely change nothing, with all the sweat and heart that went into planning, making, buying and finding to make the day perfect, I could not have imagined anything better. It also brought all of us closer as a result and in such unpredictable times that is all both me and David can ask for.
YOUR ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES-TO-BE: Have an idea of how you want your wedding, but keep it loose and be open to other possibilities. If you are to fixated on something it could mean that you miss an opportunity to make it better. It’s okay if you like things no one else likes. Keeps true to yourself and stand out in a sea of similarities and boredom. Flexibility and individuality are valuable when planning a wedding.
ADVICE FROM THE GROOM: I’m very much a control freak and a lot of people rely on me, but when it came to our special day, I lived in the moment. Have people there that you know can handle things on your behalf. Be ready to be hit with waves of emotions when you finally get to your day. Most of all, have fun!
THREE WORDS TO DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING: Mysterious, funny and full of family and friends.
HONEYMOON DESTINATION: The original plan was to go to Japan, but due to COVID it may have to be a road trip across the United States.
