Kelly was immediately attracted to Cammeron’s big beautiful smile, but it was his outgoing, loving and caring personality that really won her over. Her beautiful smile, she drew him in right away, and the warm sense of comfort and ease he felt when talking to her told him that she was the one! Still, it took a good eight years before Kelly and Cammeron finally tied the knot. Now they share a new home with their baby, a beautiful pit bull named Blue.
It was on the 4th of July last summer that Cammeron set up a little a game that resulted in a wedding proposal. Kelly found the first clue as she finished her morning coffee. “I was running around like crazy trying to figure out where he was. But little did I know, he wasn’t even at home! The last clue said “Get dressed and meet me at our spot,” which was the lake by our house where we had our first date. I hurried to get myself together and rushed over there, to find Cammeron and Blue were waiting. That was when asked me to spend forever with him and without hesitation, I said yes!” White marble, white and blush flowers, shades of biscotti, blush and gold and geometric shapes were combined to create a very tasteful and lovely look for this country club wedding. Guests were greeted with classy marble welcome signage and a grand marble seating chart, and the soft colors of linens and flowers combined for a look that was pure elegance.
At the front entrance, guests were wowed by the venue’s staircase draped with flowing greens and added fresh flowers all the way from top to bottom. Then at the doors, a custom marble welcome sign and a canvas print of the couple. Custom marble signage seems like an item that would cost a fortune, but that’s not actually the case. Kelly and Cammeron made various pieces themselves, including table numbers, bar menu & guestbook sign with custom created vinyl decals. What a great idea!
Cammeron’s mother, a professional florist, outdid herself in decorating the venue. White and blush garden roses, dahlias, white yaro, pink bridal protea, white anemone and jasmine were used for bouquets and decor florals, with an assortment of tall and short vases on the tables. And on the head table, a large floral arrangement in the center with greenery spread down the length of the table and draped down the front, and vases for the bridesmaids’ bouquets. Kelly was delighted, saying, “She truly made my vision come to life. It was breathtaking!” The elegance continued with Kelly’s choice of the Vana gown by Maggie Sottero, from Always Elegant Bridal and Tuxedo. A beautiful design in ivory, with thin lace straps, deep open low back, long tulle and lace train with bead and lace detail all over, Vana has four separate layers of lace silk and tulle, each with a different pattern. “My dress was amazing and the color was perfect!” gushes Kelly, and the photos prove that she was right.
Before the ceremony, Kelly blocked out some time to spend some alone with her dad. “It was really special to us both. He’s always been my biggest supporter and my best friend, and I’ll always be his baby girl!” Then it was time to get on with the big wonderful wedding. A string quartet played “All Of Me” by John Legend as Kelly approached her groom, who felt his jitters melt away. “Once you see your bride walk down the isle, all your nerves disappear! It’s just you and her, and that’s all that matters!” Once she reached, the altar, “I finally got to look into my husbands eyes and hold his hands — it felt like a dream!” The couple exchanged vows under a hexagonal arch constructed by Cammeron, who assembled it to surprise Kelly while she was out of town. “When I returned, he had it set up for me in the yard! He knew how much I wanted it for the wedding!” The wedding truly had the feeling of a family affair, with Kelly’s uncle Larry officiating, and nieces and nephews performing flower girl snd ring bearer duties. Kelly’s favorite part of the day was seeing all the people who came to show their love and support. “We felt truly blessed!” she says. “We took a moment of silence to recognize the loved ones who couldn’t be there with us. It was so special to my husband and I because we both recently lost people close to us. We had each of their pictures printed, and set on a chair in the front row of the ceremony so they could be there with us.” The newlyweds made their grand entrance under a willow branch and silk flower arch from We Do Designs, who also provided linens and decor items. “I love Beauty and the Beast, so there was no doubt I wanted something grand and beautiful above the dance floor! We did green boxwood garlands along the bottoms of each chandelier with silk flowers attached, then We Do Designs worked their magic and draped each chandelier to add that extra touch. It was stunning!” Favors showed the personal touch, too. “My cousins have their own beehives, so I bought honey jars and lids, then after helping my cousin fill them with honey, we attached a honey dipper with blush ribbon then topped them off with custom tags made by my aunt. They were velvet 3D bee cutouts attached to a tag that said “Meant to Bee” with our names. They were so cute!” explains Kelly.
Hand carved prime rib was on the menu, and for dessert, a beautiful marble cake, and black raspberry and root beer & sweet cream ice cream. The time for the first dance followed by the father daughter dance which featured a special performance by the bride’s family and a surprise to her father – the bride’s three uncles played guitar and piano while brides cousin sang the song “Daddy” by Abby Anderson. “It was so hard to keep it a secret from my dad, but so worth it in the end! I’m his youngest and I’ve always been a daddy’s girl, so the songs lyrics were a perfect way to show him how I felt. It was a special moment for us both and we’ll cherish it forever!” Kelly says proudly.
It’s safe to say that the wedding of Kelly and Cammeron was a day of wonderful memories for their entire families. And that’s what it’s all about.
