THE LOVE STORY
HOW DID YOU MEET: There was once a boy, fast and handsome who everyone loved to hang out and make jokes with. He was fast on his dirt bike and could cook an awesome Chicken Parmesan. There was once a girl, fast and beautiful who everyone loved to hang out and make jokes with. She was fast on her dirt bike and LOVED CHICKEN PARMESAN! We finally met through my sister Sharon after waving and cheering each other on and were dating soon thereafter in January of 2015.
WHAT ATTRACTED HER TO HIM: His charming smile, ambition, and glowing personality on a dirt bike is what attracted me to him.
WHAT ATTRACTED HIM TO HER: I was attracted to Heather’s beautiful smile, great personality, strong willed independence, and her love of dirt bikes.
YOUR ENGAGEMENT STORY: February 2, 2020 was when the Big Question was popped; in the presence of a beautiful family audience, a snow filled Tahoe mountain range in the background and the most abundant fresh mountain air. Brett asked, “Heather Kathleen Mowell will you marry me?” I quickly teared up with a smile and said, “YES!” We were surrounded by friends and family, shared laughs, tears, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a bouquet of the finest roses (prepared by Brett’s mom Cheryl).
THE WEDDING
FAVORITE PART OF THE WEDDING: Heather’s favorite part was dancing, taking pictures in the photo booth, and smashing cake in Brett’s face. (After he tried to do it first). Brett’s favorite part was taking shots with his bachelor friends and watching our flower guy who twerked and threw flowers down the aisle to Billy Squires “Stroke Me”.
MOST UNEXPECTED PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY: The overall feeling of joy and relief while enjoying time with friends and family on our special day.
WHAT, IF ANYTHING, WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY: Spending more time going table to table to thank everyone as well as taking time to walk around and take in the ambiance of the wedding was hard for us. We would have wanted to take more time to take in the moment. Time flies by.
ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES: Listen to the advice of others but only take bits and pieces to make the wedding your own. Everyone has an opinion of what you should or shouldn’t do and a wedding should be a reflection of the couple, not just a crowd pleaser.
ADVICE FOR OTHER GROOMS: Give your own input with no hesitation. The bride and others may bombard you with ideas but it is important to have your own opinions and to collaborate on ideas.
