What do you do with a with a lot of blank space and wedding decor to add? Paved patios, wooden decks, outdoor lighting, numerous flowerbeds and large mature trees without any buildings to work in or around. Why, you create 3 different designs for the ceremony of course!
First was the main reception site and ceremony area. Tented altar with chandelier, custom printed aisle runner, decorated with solar lanterns and candles flanked by lighted birch trees made it very romantic. Alongside were the reception tables, covered in gold lamé and pink napkins, Chiavari chairs under a draped awning, delineating the dining space. Bar tables were draped with a pink sparkle runner and silver vases with hydrangea, were spaced along the top walkway above the main reception area. It added a little sparkle for that late afternoon sun to pick up on!
Off to the side is the buffet, draped beautifully with matching linens and added vases and signage. Don’t be afraid to dress up all your tables to delight your guests.
Second was a walkway turned into an altar. Draping was added along with a lovely curly willow arch, metal folding stand with candles and urns, we had an intimate space. Being 2 steps up from the seating, everyone gets a clear view of the ceremony. This space was best for seating of up to 50.
Third was on the deck facing a large mature oak which the late afternoon trickled thru. Birch arch with curly willow, candles and low flower arrangements with the same runner seen in option 1. Plenty of room for the wedding party too!
When you’ve got lots of space to fill, consider adding a lounge. Nice for small groups to gather away from the reception tables and dance floor. The fresh flower arrangements were all done in whites, blush pink and pops of bright pink bloom. Roses and hydrangeas, readily available most of the year, creating stunning bouquets and centerpieces. Varying heights create interest on tables and walkways. The towering blush and gold cake is classic yet simple and works well with everything.
