These newlyweds were married May 17, 2019 at the beautiful Grand Island Mansion with an extravagant take on a modern fairytale with a color palette of blush, gold, rose gold, light pink and champagne. Here are their answers on how they met and the special day they tied the knot.
How we met:
We met while I was dating my ex-boyfriend. They had a mutual friend, and when we went to hang out one day, WALAAA, there we met. It wasn’t love at first site by any means… I was with another man! It wasn’t until 3 years later after the ex and I broke up that I ran into Tim again and he asked me on a date.
What attracted me to him/her:
Tim was a gentle giant. Being 6’5″ man and having such a gentle, kind personality is not something you see every day. Besides being tall dark and handsome, he’s a jokester & a gentleman. Tim always puts others before himself and cares so much about his family and friends.
What attracted him/her to me:
Alayna is the most beautiful women under the sun. She has a heart of gold and a great personality. I noticed early on that you could always count on her if you needed her. She has always been by my side and has stuck by me through rough times in my life. She is the greatest thing that could have ever happened to me, and always makes me want to be a better person and soon to be husband. Every time I wake up next to her by my side, I feel like I am in Heaven. I love her from the bottom of my heart and can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with this angel of a woman.
Here’s our proposal story:
So one day we got mail and I accidentally opened Tim’s bank statement…needless to say I saw the ring charge. I tried to play it off so Tim wouldn’t know I saw it but he knew right away (I guess my facial expressions are more expressive than I realize). Now that I had ruined the surprise, Tim had to really surprise me. Well one night it was really late and I wanted to go out to get dinner instead of making dinner. Tim insisted on staying home and really wanted me to make the frozen pot stickers in our freezer from Costco. I kept saying no I don’t feel like it I just want to go out. So as we continue to bicker over dinner he drags me to the kitchen and I’m trying to resist and he makes me open the freezer. I kept calling him a weirdo and had no idea why he wanted pot stickers so bad, what’s so special about pot stickers!?! As he’s forcing me to open the freezer I don’t even see the pot stickers at first and then I do and the ring box is on top. I turn around and Tim was already on one knee asking me to marry him!
Most romantic moment of the wedding day:
Walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time. I will never forget the look in my husbands eyes.
The unexpected moment of the wedding day:
I lost my car keys! Everyone was scouring the entire mansion for hours to find my keys and turns out they were in my jean pocket the whole time.
My favorite part of the wedding day:
Our first dance, though we messed up toward the end it was so much fun and everyone enjoyed it.
What I would change about my wedding day:
I probably wouldn’t of had our wedding on a Friday. A lot of people arrived late after or during the ceremony due to traffic.
Advice for other brides:
Don’t stress! Just taking everything a little at a time and at the end of the day, (just like Rachel Hollis says) anyone else’s opinion of your wedding, is none of your business. It is your guys day, and as long as you’re happy and enjoying the day – that is all that matters!
Advice for other grooms:
The girl is always right. If she wants something a certain way at the wedding, you are going to want to make sure that it happens. This day is the start of the rest your lives together and you don’t want to start off in the dog house.
My honeymoon story:
We are going to Sandals Royal Bahamian in the Bahamas! All inclusive club level room – we can’t wait!!
My final thoughts:
Enjoy your engagement and the whole wedding planning process! We booked our wedding 15 months in advance. At the time, it seemed like it was FOREVER away. BOY does time fly!!!!! Enjoy being engaged and planning your wedding! The more time you have the better, it gives lots of time to spread out tasks and not get stressed. Wedding planning is fun and take your time enjoying the experience!
