THE LOVE STORY
HOW DID YOU MEET? We met in college — we both played on the golf team!
WHAT ATTRACTED HER TO HIM? His laugh.
WHAT ATTRACTED HIM TO HER? Her smile.
YOUR ENGAGEMENT STORY: Since we both met on our college golf team, Patrick proposed during a trip home to visit family after a round of golf on the 18th green. He made sure I was the last person to putt out and when I reached in to get the golf ball, there was another ball in the hole that said “will you marry me?” When I turned around he was on one knee with some of my family members behind the green watching.
THE WEDDING
FAVORITE PART OF THE WEDDING: Seeing all of my favorite people together in one place after such an unexpected, crazy year. We also incorporated my grandpa’s Volkswagen bug into the ceremony space. Even though he passed away many years ago, having a part of him there was very meaningful.
MOST UNEXPECTED PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY: Being able to see everything come together and having it be more than I hoped it could be. Our wedding was truly a labor of love with many family members putting in so many hours of work. From the arch that my stepdad built that we got married under to my brother officiating the ceremony — everything was so personal and incredibly special.
WHAT, IF ANYTHING, WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY? Try not to stress as much. In the beginning, I was nervous because I wasn’t sure how everything would turn out but as the day went on I was able to relax and enjoy the moment.
YOUR ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES- TO-BE: Take a moment to step away from everything and everyone with your significant other. Taking everything in and seeing everyone laughing and smiling was very special to us.
