There’s just something magical about Lake Tahoe. When you leave the valley and head up into the mountains, it can feel like you’re in another world. It’s no wonder that it inspires romance in the hearts of so many.
Zach’s proposal to his high school sweetheart Lindsay came on a winter weekend trip to South Lake Tahoe with a couple of friends. After waking up to a clear beautiful day, and everything in sight covered with a dusting of new snow, they decided to take a gondola ride up to a nearby observation deck where they could really appreciate the beauty of the Sierras.
The beautiful mountain vista captured Lindsay’s attention until Zachary’s surprise proposal. She recalls, “It was such a romantic moment. It will always be one of my very favorite memories and definitely the best decision I have ever made.”
It’s no surprise that a “rustic meets classy” wedding in the foothills would follow. A beautiful spring day was all this couple needed for their perfect outdoor ranch wedding, all captured by the expert eye of photographer Denise Apgar.
“Working with Denise was so wonderful. She made being in front of a camera feel comfortable and natural, and she really went above and beyond, even sending us a Starbucks card about a month before the wedding. She told us to pick a day and have a coffee date, to escape the stress for a little while and reconnect with each other.”
The bride kept it simple with neutral colors that would compliment nature’s beauty. Bridesmaids wore shades of blue, and accent colors were simply white with touches of greenery.
“The entire day was so perfect, but I will never forget the look on my husbands face when our eyes met during the ceremony. We didn’t do a first look, so the start of the ceremony was the first time we saw each other. He looked so full of excitement and gratitude. I don’t know that I have ever felt as loved and adored as I did in that moment.”
